When we see a constellation, it looks like a connected pattern, but in reality, the stars are often nowhere near each other. Some might be a few dozen light-years away, while others are thousands of light-years apart. Our brains—and ancient skywatchers—just connected them into familiar shapes, turning 3D star positions into 2D myths in the sky.
