Ensign Peak offers a short, accessible hike with an elevation gain of about 400 feet. Located just north of downtown Salt Lake City, it is a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The hike, approximately half a mile long, provides stunning panoramic views of the city and the Great Salt Lake. It’s especially favored for sunset viewing, allowing a quick descent after dark. The peak is free to visit and is easily reached with plenty of street parking. Though it can get crowded, particularly during peak times, the breathtaking views make it well worth the experience for stargazers and nature enthusiasts alike.
