Scientists have found amino acids—the building blocks of proteins—in meteorites that fell to Earth. The Murchison meteorite, which landed in Australia in 1969, contained over 90 different amino acids, some not even found naturally on Earth. This discovery suggests that space rocks may have helped kickstart life by delivering essential organic molecules billions of years ago.
