The Pyxis constellation is a small group formed only by 3 main stars. There are currently 54 discovered stars in the region inside its perimeter. It is located in the second quadrant of the southern sky.

The constellation of Pyxis represents a mariner’s compass and it is an abbreviation of Pyxis Nautica.
