Unlike every other planet, Uranus is tilted at nearly 98 degrees, meaning it essentially rolls through space instead of spinning upright. Scientists think a massive collision with an Earth-sized object in the past knocked it over. This extreme tilt causes bizarre seasons—each pole experiences 42 years of continuous sunlight, followed by 42 years of total darkness.
