Some scientists believe the Oort Cloud could be hiding rogue planets—worlds that were ejected from the solar system long ago and now drift in the darkness. If such planets exist, they might be frozen solid, with thick atmospheres trapping faint heat from their cores. Future deep-space missions might one day confirm if these lost planets are lurking in the solar system’s outermost frontier.
