Launched by the U.S. in 1958, Vanguard 1 is the oldest man-made satellite still in orbit. Though it stopped communicating in 1964, it’s still circling Earth more than 65 years later. Predictions say it will remain up there for at least 200 more years before gravity finally pulls it down.
